Prime are shortlisted for award through the Yeovil Estates Partnership 5 October 2017

Prime, together with it’s joint venture partner Interserve and strategic estates partner Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has been shortlisted for the Public Private Partnership award in LaingBuisson’s UK Healthcare Awards for Excellence 2017.

The award recognises excellence in strategic partnerships between the public and private sector and focuses on delivery outcomes, value-for-money and innovation.

The Yeovil Estates Partnership (YEP) is up against five healthcare partnerships, including Agincare Live-in Care, Care UK, Eden Futures, Four Seasons Health Care and Alliance Medical. The winner will be announced at a ceremony being held on 15 November in London.

Established in November 2014, the Yeovil Estates Partnership is an example of public-private partnership best practice. It has implemented an ambitious transformation programme at Yeovil Hospital, completing £21.8m worth of new build and refurbishment projects, and reducing backlog maintenance by £13.7m in just two and a half years.

Completed projects to date include a 654-space multi-storey car park and access road to reduce congestion around the site, a new Special Care Baby Unit and a state-of-the-art Emergency Assessment Unit to ease winter bed pressures.

The transformation of the Yeovil Hospital site supports the Trust’s ambitions to introduce new, more sustainable models of care. The YEP helps to deliver the facilities needed to support the Trust’s clinical strategy and is an integral part of making it happen strategically, sustainably and in a financially viable way.

Iain Saunders, Partnership Director for the YEP, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for the LaingBuisson Public Private Partnership award and for what we are doing with Yeovil Hospital to be recognised by the healthcare industry in this way. We are extremely proud of our work with Yeovil Hospital and the way the partnership is helping to deliver tangible changes to health and social care for the benefit of patients, staff and the wider community.”
