Birmingham Dental Hospital named as finalist at this year’s Partnerships Awards 28 April 2015

The new Birmingham Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry has been recognised at the highest level, with the project shortlisted in the ‘Best Healthcare Project’ category of the 2015 Partnerships Awards.

The landmark development will be the first integrated, stand-alone new dental hospital and school in the UK for almost 40 years, providing state-of-the-art clinical facilities and a world-class teaching environment. The project has been led by Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust, together with its partners the University of Birmingham, local LIFTCo Birmingham and Solihull LIFT (BaS LIFT) – of which Prime is the private sector partner – and Calthorpe Estates. Prime is up against some stiff international competition in this category including healthcare schemes in Turkey and Germany.

Ewan Forsyth, Development Director at Prime said: “This scheme is a fantastic example of what the public and private sector can deliver by working together. Not only will it serve the people of the region and train the next generation of dentists to world-class standards, it is also a real catalyst for inward investment in this area of Birmingham, making it a hub for medical excellence.”

The awards have been run for the last 17 years recognising and rewarding the public and private sectors for their work in delivering the latest innovative schemes.

More than 700 leading figures are expected to attend the awards ceremony in May to honour the winners of each hotly contested category.
